Role: Designer, Animator (2D and 3D)

This logo reveal for Ninja Nation in Colorado was created with a mixture of After effects and Cinema 4D character animation.

I tried to design more “scenes” based off of the Ninja Nation logo that would string together as a quick cohesive story. A few of the ideas for the scenes didn’t make it through because the obstacle itself was too complex (you can see one below in the boards).

I designed the 3D character in Adobe Fuse to look as similar as possible to the character from the final logo.

In order to make the 3D character move throughout the scenes and complete the movements, I used a combination of Mixamo for Cinema 4D and hand-keyframing of the movements to “transition” between the different motions that Mixamo provides. This definitely was a challenge to do in 3D but helped me understand more about 3D character animation.

This process ended up being the most effective because since I could get the character animation out of the way first (by making temporary obstacles in c4d for reference) I was them able to add a solid white fill before sending it over to after effects and adjusting the 2D layouts to fit the character movement and camera angle.
